Annual CEO Roundtable Summits with Head of State
During 2001 and 2002, the group held two summits, one every year, with H.E President Mkapa, at which a day was spent discussing one key issue facing the economy. These exchanges, which were attended by the President’s most senior advisors and a few ministers, not only helped build trust between the government and the private sector, but also actually identified obstacles to growth and laid the groundwork for more work on finding solutions to the problems so identified. They further raised the profiles of the practicing companies and the private sector as whole. CEOs were seen and continue to be seen as partners in the development process of our country.

On 8th October 2007, the CEO Roundtable held its first annual summit with H. E. President Kikwete. One of the outcomes of that summit was a commitment by the President to follow through on the recommendations mad by the CEOs aimed at creating hyper-growth in the Tanzanian economy. The CEOs on their part committed to continue working in partnership with the Government to achieve that goal. The summit also witnessed the launch of the 2 million dollar CEO Scholarship Fund and its first project called Enhancing Public Service Leadership (EPSL), a consciousness transformation seminar programme that will see 240 senior government leaders equipped with the knowledge tools needed to lead in the globalization era over the next three years. A trust fund has been set up to manage the CEO Scholarship Fund under the name CSF Trust LTD, a non-profit company limited by guarantee. The Board of Trustees of CSF T draws its membership in equal numbers from the private and public sectors as follows:
